Jessica Allison is a costume maker working predominantly in film and theatre.

Jess studied a Bachelor of Dramatic Arts (Costume) at NIDA where she learnt and refined a wide variety of technical skills in many aspects of costume making, including period cutting, draping, tailoring, art finishing and millinery. She also gained considerable experience in social and historical research, as well as the managerial side of coordinating costumes for theatre productions.

She believes in the importance of combining historical garment-making techniques with new innovations as a way of preserving the traditional skills of the past while still remaining current – it is these values of quality and historical integrity that inform her work.
